T500 - Percussion 'change'!

    Hi, I'm a new member.

    Have two T500 Hammond's and two H100 Hammond's.

I have made a better 'Keyclick' by following Carsten Meyers T-Series Mod's.

And I also 'changed' the BANJO and CHIMES Percussion.

On the Banjo perc.I removed the 'fixed resistors' wich made the BANJO and

    changed it to a Third Harmonic 2-2/3' + 1'.

Soldered a 33K resistor to the 2-2/3' voice and a 56K resistor to the 1' voice and

top of the resistors to their common out-pin.

And I also changed the CHIMES Perc. to a Third Harmonic 2-2/3',by removing the

'fixed resistors' for the CHIMES and thensoldered a 33K to the 2-2/3' voice.

And I also made a short decay on the 'new changed' Third Harmonic perc. (Chimes Tab).

Both percussions together with Carsten Meyer's Mods on 'Keyclick' makes my

    T500' sound very good!

    Keep the Hammond's sounding good!

    Best wishes from Carsten P.

    Evening squire!

I'm a complete T-500 mod nut. Have you got a recording of the extrapercussion on those last tabs?

The T responds very well to being modified, eh?

Have you had a look at the other T threads to see what kind of things we've had a bash at?

Let me know if you're interested in any other mods.

I'm keen to hear this new mod for my own improvement project!

      Re: T500 - Percussion 'change'!

Hi, I am very much impressed by the sound of my old H-100, srtarted to completely rewire the percussion tabs so that I now have the joy of six harmonics, independantly switchable. I am now working out how to be able to control the percussion length with the (useless) reiterate pot.If someone can give me a hint on this I will be very grateful! Otherwise I have to work it all out by myself. I expect I have to do some trick with the capacitor in the percussion control circuit.Maybe have the variable resistor parrallell to it.

        G'day propeet!

Carsten, (above) made quite a few changes to his T-500, as did I, the place we both started out were on Carsten Meyer's pages

athttp://keyboardpartner.de/hammond/t-modifications.htmsome of those mods may be convertible to the H.

Mr Meyer promised a series of H mods athttp://keyboardpartner.de/hammond/h-modifications.htmbut evidently got too busy with day to day life and work. Maybe one day he'll get back to it.

Let us know how you get on, because mods like these are important for users like yourself looking for this very information.

I can discuss similarities and differences with you, its possible my T-500 work may be similar.

The best resolution h100 diagrams are here:

        http://keyboardpartner.de/hammond/diagrams/H-100/

        though check outhttp://www.captain-foldback.com/Hamm...schematics.zip

        as well.

Look at Carsten Meyer's percussion length mod and tell me if it looks at all similar to what you have...

        Cheers!
