Re: Hammond organ ID

This is the 'church' version of the 161xxx series Monarch. Same beast, but with all the goodies like rhythm etc removed.

It will be suffering from LSI disease, so it's time to unplug, clean (with DeOxit) and reseat every connector in the organ, then all the drawbars. It should then spring to life and stay that way until 1) you move it or 2) it decides to play around (which it certainly will!)

Worth spending a little time and very little money. It has the usual LSI Hammond sound.

    Hammond organ ID

I have been given a 1976 Hammond organ Model 16262 with the locking "rolltop" and bench. Would someone help me with your opinion of the pro's, con's, do's and dont's. It looks like new and has spent its life at the altar in a church. Is this modelworth spending time or moneyon. It seems to work (based on a 3 minute test) but many of the drawbars and tabs were intermittent and/or scratchy. I am armed with my contact cleaner. I would appreciate any info that you might share or link me to.

    Thanks, Roy
