• Hammond Colonnade 1/4 Output Problem

Hey guys, I just got back from checking out a Hammond Colonnade that I'm thinking of buying. It works great and sounds great and all the functions are still working, the only thing i noticed was when I plugged a cable into the Line Out and ran it into an amplifier the signal sounds distorted. Its not really a consistent noise problem, it sounds like when the notes are played there is some kind of light distortion on them, so I cant really get a clean glassy rich tone out of the line out, which is a pretty big deal for me since i mostly use organs to run through an effect pedal setup and then record direct. I was wondering if this sounds like a problem that anyone else has had or knows about or could be fixed easily? The organ is only $125 so if it was able to be fixed I think it'd be worth buying and messing around with but I don't wanna waste my money on somethin that I can't really use in the way I'm hoping to. Any responses would be appreciated, apparently there's another guy going to check it out Friday so I hope I can make some kind of decision before then :) Thanks!

Actually the problem i'm hearing sounds similar to the problem I've seen discussed when tapping a line out just into the speaker wire, where the signal seems clipped. Would one of the DI boxes be a possible solution or would it be a deeper problem than that?

I don’t recall a line out on the Colonade I once had. If this jack is under the manuals or on the front grille cloth it is a headphone jack. The brochure I have confirms the existence of this type output.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
