• A-100 Pedal Busbar Adjustment?

Okay, I'm finally getting to my pedal project involving replacing the felt and refinishing the white note pedals. There are a couple of notes that haven't been sounding fully when depressing the pedals. After I removed the pedals and existing felt today, I turned the organ on and pressed down the exposed switches by hand. Sure enough, most of the notes sounded with little effort whereas the two offending notes took more effort to get them to fully sound.

In my A-100 manual it says that "the pedal switch is equipped with busbar shifters similar to those on the manuals. The pedal busbar shifter is a Slotted stud on the near surface of the pedal switch, near the left end as you look in at the back." I'm thinking I could adjust this shifter and that might make for a better contact but I can't find where this "slotted stud" is anywhere on the pedal assembly. Do I need to remove a cover or something? Wish this forum had an image attachment feature so I could post pics.

I'm going to work on refinishing right now until I hear from someone on this board. Thanks!

Looking at the back of the organ, you will see a hole near the left side bottom (treble end). This hole is access to the busbar shifter. You will need a screwdriver long enough to reach the brass screw inside. The factory setting is all the way clockwise. Turning it one or two revolutions to the left (CCW) will be enough. Try it and see if it improves.

Wow, I never noticed that "hole" in the back of the organ before! I was actually able to make the adjustment when I had the assembly pulled out, seemed to help a bit. I'll know more once I put the pedal assembly back in.
