Hi guys,

its for sale locally and the owner might be flexible on the price.

Can anyone tell me specifications, model etc.? Also what would be the maximum price to pay if it is working well?

    Thanks

      G'day Sean,

The Jen organ is one of the lesser known Italians that made its way to our shores, thankfully in small numbers in the late 70's. The only model I remember was a thing they called "Allegro" which frankly was a very ordinary bucket of bolts.

The "Stedfast" sticker on the right side of the instrument bears the name of the importer, who were a front for one of the better known evangelical churches, also the importer of Thomas organs. They went to their God (where they belong) decades ago, making product specific parts impossible to obtain.

As for its value, I'd give it a wide berth and keep hunting for one of the better known brands.

      Cheers,

Ian's being very kind about the Jen Allegro - "All Aggro", more like. It was a heap of ****!

This one's an oddball. Obviously rather later than the Allegro, the console looks like a Bontempi/Farfisa design, rather than Jen. However, by this time, most of the Italian makers had disappeared and there were, I guess, buckets of spare parts from which anyone in the Ancona region could assemble an organ. heaven knows what the innards are like, and it probably still sounds like ****. I'm with Ian, leave this one well alone or ask them to pay YOU to take it away!

It's not what you play. It's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.
