• What Leslie Cabinets for E-70 Electone

Does anyone here know what model Leslies the e-70 was designed to use?

Just a long shot but i'm also wondering what these different models may sound like when hooked up to the e-70. I've been told the leslies with only the rotating bass speaker sound more theatre organ like, While the leslies with both rotating horns and bass speaker sound more hammond like?

Could someone please help me out. Thanks

I've just bought an e-70 from a shop in Melbourne and trying to figure out options. For some reason I prefer the tremolo on my d-85 in North QLD and it's one thing I'd like to improve on this e-70.

    G'day,

The E70 is factory pre-wired to accept Leslie models700 & 710, (plug & play, no kit required) both 90W solid state 2 channel cabinets with 9 pin connection, the only difference apart from cosmetics being the treble horn rotor on the 710. Both models have a 6 x 9" rotosonic drum, 15" bass & two 6 x 9" stationary speakers.

Goodvintage Leslies aremore precious thangold in Australia, so frankly, procrastinate and you'll miss out, just grab whatever comes your way first. Either way you won't be disappointed.

Um what bother with Leslies ? That organ also has sockets for the Yamaha cabinets. If you can find ( I know , Rare ! ) either TM1s or TX1s, that would be excellent too. Yes the trems are electronic, but no one that has heard me do Hammond stuff on my FX-1 could tell. Us purists can, but the masses have no clue .

Hey Larry, I hooked up a Leslie 722 to my FX-1 along with the two TM-1's and if you haven't heard the FX-1 thru a Leslie, you NEED to! Many electronic organs don't necessarily sound right thru a Leslie. The FX-1 was a great surprise. It sounds awesome with a Leslie.

Yep,E70 does have the 13 pin Yammy cabinet socket, which is a fine and wonderful thing, but TX1 was never marketed in Australia, TM1 was special order only ex Japan, BUT how many TM5's would you like with your organ, sir?
