  • My yamaha E-70 just died...

    <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold;"><div>Hi All,</div><div>
    </div><div>esp FlametopFred or DrFunk, </div><div>
</div><div>I bought an E-70 2 months ago, its been working great. Last night, i turned   it on and the power light came on but the preset lights were all dead, as well as no sound from any part of it i.e. orchestra sections nor the flute sections + the drum machine... nothing. Just the audible click of the power amp when you turn it and the little led "on" light. This morning i replaced all the fuses and now the preset lights are back on but still no sound.</div><div>
    </div><div>Any ideas?</div></span>

You may have had an amplifier failure. They are designed to trip the mute relay if the amp has a problem. This insures the amp doesn't damage the speakers. Got a schematic?</p>

<div>Thank you Geoelectro for the possibility. I called a MITA approved organ technician for an appointment on the 29th of July. Hopefully something good will come out of it. As far as getting a schematic, i guess i would have to get a hold of Yamaha North America.</div><div>
</div><div>I just want it to work again  :(</div><div>
</div><div>If its the amp as you suspect, is that fixable or am i screwed?</div><div>
      </div><div>Thank you for your response.</div>

After looking at the schematic, there does NOT seem to be a mute circuit for locking out the speakers with an amplifier failure. I guess just let the tech make an assessment. All electronics are repairable IF parts are available. Let's hope it easy![:)]</p>

everything is cool again!  I had a MITA tech come out and fix it and all is good again. Looks like it was a glitch within the power supply.  I'll have youtube videos up soon.  Damm, the E70 is such a killer synth, with a little bit of efx processing, it smokes every synth ive ever owned.  I could care less that that it dosent have a real ADSR...   these sounds are just beautiful.</p>
