• Yet Another Leslie 600 Compatibility Question/Lowrey GAK25H-1

There have been a couple threads about Leslie 600 desirability and compatibility and I've raved about how I love my Lowrey GAK25h-1 paired up with a Leslie 145 on the Lowrey forum. I've come across a semi local seller of a Leslie 600 who has been posting for a couple months and has also been threatening to part out the leslie if he can't sell it soon. The price is very good for any model Leslie.

Does anyone know if my Lowrey Citation GAK25H-1 is directly compatible? I know there are two multipin connectors on the back of it and one is obviously for a 145 since one is currently connected and controlled by the Lowrey's trem controls. It would be a big prodution for me to move the Lowrey enough to read the other connector info and I suspect one of you can give more information than is provided on the back of the Lowrey. I guess the same question would apply to my Yamaha 415i and the FS500. Which leslies were intended for direct hookup?

    Thanks Much,

The second 6-pin socket on the back is for a long-extinct Lowrey tone cabinet. It's not compatible with the 600 directly and, as you'll have read from other threads, the 600 is an odd-ball, requiring a very complex connector kit.

Frankly, I think you've got the best set-up you could wish for with the organ and 145 as it is now.

How many pins on your Yamahas? 9 would mean direct plug in for cabinets like the 700 and 710. 11 would mean direct plug in for the 415, 705 and 715.

      G'day Paul,

Your GAK25H-1 is not compatible with the Leslie 600, no hookup kit was ever produced for that Lowrey series. For what it's worth the only Lowrey model that would accept the 600 was H25-3. Stick with Andy's advice - your 145.

Same story with your Yamahas - The 600 doesn't like anything that Yamaha built, or vice versa. Your FS500 & 415 Yammys both have 11 pin Leslie sockets & are factory pre-wired for any 11 pin multi channel Leslie, no fitting kit required.

Hi Paul, is the 600 in good shape? I'm located in CA and I've been looking for another 600, so if you pass this one up and the seller is fairly local I would be interested. Thanks!

While we are talking about Leslie 600's, I have a Leslie 600-Wurlitzer 605/800/802/805 connection kit# 7775 that I was going to put on eBay. Comes with installation instructions. If interested, pm me.

Thanks for the prompt and informed replies. I'm kind of relieved not to feel compelled to drive two hours each direction for something that won't work for me and probably wouldn't fit in either of my cars. The guy is offeringit for$250 American on Craig's List Seattle. Looks real clean but he doesn't mention if it works or not: http://seattle.craigslist.org/est/msg/1270536705.html

Seems like a great cabinet for a multi channel organ that's set up for it. Anyone got Lowrey H25-3 they can use it with or donate to me?[;)]
