  • Estimated weight off Conn Prelude home organ?

My mother passed away and left me her Conn Prelude organ.

I need to move it from Phoenix to Seattle so that my family and I can enjoy it in her memory.

It's not easy to find someone to do it and those I've been in contact with have asked how much it weighs. I can't budge it but I have back problems.

Any idea of how much a small organ weighs? If it's too expensive I won't be able to bring it home. How much is it worth? To me it's priceless, but I'm trying to be realistic.

Thank you for sharing anything you might know.

    Sarah

The Prelude model 315 service manual shows 175 lbs. The 315 has a rhythm unit but the weight would be about the same.

Unfortunately the cash value is zero. There just isn't a market for older spinet organs unless they are Hammonds. Even Hammond spinets don't command a lot. Your moving this organ would be based only on it's worth to you.
