    New Wersi Catalogue (Germany)

If your German is up to it the new 20 page catalogue is now online on the Wersi Germany site, http://www.wersi.net/ (Can also be downloaded) and for those that cannot read German there are plenty of pictures in there.

You can also use this site here http://pdf2docx.com/ to convert into a word document, and then this site here https://www.onlinedoctranslator.com/ to translate into English. (NOTE: Translation is not perfect)

    Enjoy

That's impressive. Like the great old Wersi brochures of yesteryear.

Cool instrument, but I'm not sure I'd buy an expensive piece of hardware like this that's based on Windows. Last thing you want is for the organ to crash or get hacked.

I agree, but on the other hand I think MusicStore have called it right. The future of organs is surely software-driven instruments, and therefore what's the alternative? Apple won't licence MacOS. So Linux? The reality is it's Windows or bust for the majority of home users.

Given the slow maturity of the OAX line, it's still a gamble. But on the basis of some of the discounts on offer (discussed here in another thread), I could still fancy an OAX600 and a couple of TS9000s, if only for the classic Wersi drawbar sounds which it does brilliantly.

Had my Sonic for 10 months and never had any Windows issues. However the OAX software does crash occasionally. There no requirement to connect to the Internet unless remote support is required, so no real danger from hackers.

I would concur with that - I have had mine since Oct 16 and no Windows issues at all. But likewise the odd OAX issue requiring stopping the app and restarting the app, but never had to shut Windows down.

What exactly could we expect of a „hacked“ organ?

Suddenly playing „Highway to Hell“ when you plan to play a chorale? Or switching to cheesy vox intercontinal sound, when you intend to play a B3 sound

I guess it is possible to do backups of all stored registrations and bought extensions?
Owned Philips Philicorda, Viscount Fair Lady and Cabaret de Luxe, Hohner Virtuos, Yamaha electone c-605. Now playing Hammond Aurora Classic, Technics GA3 and Roland G-800.

The same thing that most hacked PCs and IoT devices are used for: sending spam and participating in other cyber-attacks. No damage to the device itself, although it may become sluggish since it's very busy. Most hackers aren't after the information on your computer, they're after the use of your computer. They don't care if it's a PC, an organ, or a thermostat.
