  • Cleaning the inside

    Hey all,
I'm still organless in Texas but I'm beginning to wonder some things. I recall that my wife was sanding on furniture in the area where the organ sits. She redid several items. It was covered but perhaps not well enough. In fact it has started behaving better for some reason and is somehow approaching playability again. How did this happen?

I've seen other articles on the web about key cleaning but not other stuff except for pipe organs. Does a good cleaning of dust on the inside help much? What about cleaning of other contacts life various connectors on circuit boards?

Thanks to good reviews on the 4116w from others on this site I'm getting hesitant to part with it now.

Also thanks to other posters I decided to pass on a Baldwin 235. It's too much organ.

Yes... Now, take in to consideration I'm a computer tech... Dust prevents the dissipation of heat. You need to keep HEAT SINKS clear of dust.
    • If you can reverse a vacuum's airflow, give it a gentle blow.
    • If you have an air compressor do NOT go higher than 120psi. 100psi works well and shouldn't blow of any components.
    • How to prevent that dust from getting on everything else is up to you. I take computers outside to blow them out. ;)

Use the highest percentage rubbing alcohol you can get. Do NOT use it on skins, fabrics, rubber or any other flexible connection. The main purpose it to clean metal to metal connections.

That's all I have to offer.
