  • OT: I'm back!

I've been inactive in almost all music related forums for longer than I had thought. But I'm back and hopefully can bring value to this forum.

In the time I've been gone I've had my aorta relined and had a little TIA just to scare the heck out of me! But all seems to be doing good now. Haven't played the organ in over a year as it is at my old house. I bought a brand spanking new house last March and my son is staying at the old house so with all the things I wanted to do with my first new house, the organ just sat there.

Tomorrow the local piano/organ store is moving my Lowrey Palladium over here, got a whole room just for it! I'll also get the Roland BK-7M over too. And since it has been so long since I've fiddled with either it will almost like getting some new toy to play with! :)

I gave some thought to shifting to a Roland but couldn't find one local or close enough that wasn't way more than I wanted to pay.

I've missed being here, but I'll do better!

      Welcome back Lloyd!

Serious operations like you had takes a lot out of one's body. We hope you will soon recover completely - and get to resume your organning!

It's good to have you back after what sounds like a rough time, health-wise. Now you can get back to some organ-playing! :)
It's not what you play. It's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.

            Thanks for the welcomes, appreciated.

Health is pretty good these days, but since I'm now officially an old fart, I suppose I'll have old fart problems. :) As to playing, well what I do isn't so much playing as playing with!

Allen, yeah me too! I've noticed that as I get older I get to visit doctors a lot more often. :)

I'm impatiently waiting for the call from the local organ store to meet them at my old house for the move. My son kept saying that he could move it for me, but I know how ham handed he is (takes after his daddy!) and just how difficult it is to maneuver that behemoth around, I decided to hire those that actually know what they are doing. I'll get it moved today and possibly get the BK-7M connected, but more likely it will just get a really good cleaning as it has sat for over a year.

Of course, knowing me, I'll probably just have to turn it on and see if there is any muscle memory left!! :)

I'm interested in finding a Roland something for a decent price to add. I live by myself and need something to stay occupied with instead of watching incessant re-runs on TV. And since the weather hasn't really cooperated so far, golf is still very much seldom hit and mostly missed.

In case anyone hasn't seen what a Palladium looks like, here's a picture:

Of course, when it is turned on and ready for use I'll need my pilot's helmet on!! :)

That's a heck of a list of organs!!

Movers got the Palladium moved to the new house. I got it all cleaned up and made sure everything is working fine. Pedals are a bit hinky, but they get that way after long periods of no use, I'll need to do some cleaning of contacts and such if I ever decide to actually use them.

I see in the Lowrey forum they are starting a discussion of editing lots of things. I tried starting that a long time ago but found few interested, mostly because while you can edit the heck out of almost everything on the Palladium, it is extremely tedious!
