  • External speakers for Roland 900C

What are the best external speakers to use on Roland 900 C for both home use ie type of monitor speaker and for concert use, as I find the internal speakers a bit woolly

    Cheers

Roland SA-1000 if you can run to it.

    Otherwise Roland SA-300.

For home use, if you find it lacking in definition and treble clarity, you could just add a set of mid range monitors, connecting them to the main line outputs. You can place them on either side of the music desk. It's usually enough. For external use, then seamaster's suggestions are good, but there are lots of makes of high quality PA gear that offer models capable of handling the wide dynamic and frequency ranges that an organ produces. You ideally want your stereo image to have some width, but maybe not too much width. Having PA speakers 30 feet apart on stage results in a drum kit or piano that's 30 feet wide!
It's not what you play. It's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.

The Wersi boys have the same problems with their OAS/OAX organs, Mark, and generally bin their Wersi speakers in favour of Adam monitors for home use.

          Mark,

i am using a pair of Adam A8X on my Sonic 800, and delighted with them. Also don’t need a sub, as the bass rocks, but some of the guys with Adam A7X’s have a sub as well.

However, no substitute for going to listen to a few brands and models side by side to find some that suit your ear, as we all have different views.

          cheers

The Adam A*X speakers are good. I use the A7x model with my Sonic, but they are designed as near field studio monitors, so probably not suitable for concert use.

              There's a s, /h Roland sa1000 on ebay from a dealer at moment.

But you would need two to get a stereo image, and might be overkill prob for home environment.
Have owned more instruments in the last fourty years than I can count on my fingers AND toes.
