    Does anybody know

I know you can put a second keyboard on the OAX1 like the old abucus along with a pedalboard

I would like to build a three manual organ with full pedalboard mainly for my hauptwerk organ

Is it possible to just add midi keyboards to the OAX1 and a midi pedalboard vis the midi inputs, so I could add a further 2 or more lower keyboards to this.....I presume the Wersi software would not work on these keyboards or the pedalboard doing it this way......otherwise you have just built a Pergamum with your own console! Would be great if you could

    Thanks all

You could on OAS, so I shouldn’t see why you can’t on OAX, however whether this has been implemented yet I am not sure. (There are OAX owners on here that will hopefully be able to confirm one way or the other) You can also post on Wersiclub USA as that site deals mainly with OAX.
NOTE: each voice on OAX can have its own key range assigned (As on professional Workstations) which can be stored in the pre-set, so multiple manuals would probably overkill. (Converting to a 3 manual could be handy though)

      Hi Bill

Would the voices that you put in on the Wersi OAX1 be transferred to any of the keyboards or pedalboard doing it this way?

Or would the Wersi voices only transfer to the 2nd keyboard and the pedalboard like the abucuss, but the third keyboard would either have no voice assigned to it or would have the same voice and settings as the second manual

      Thanks

        Hi Mark

On all the OAS instruments the top manual on the louvre used the number 4 voice on the upper selectors and like all OAS manuals had its own assignable Midi channel, thus if you purchased a smaller instrument (Verona downwards) so long as you purchased the Selector Plus activation you could use it just like a louvre. (The add on Midi keyboard became the Solo manual, with the only disadvantage being that there was no dedicated volume slider on the instrument so adjustment had to be done on-screen)

OAX is more advanced than this, (You can assign the key range of the voice anywhere you want in professional mode as there is no set manual defined) but as I don’t have an OAX instrument (And the manual is not that clear) you will have to wait for an OAX owner to pipe up to confirm exactly how it is done in OAX. (You can also contact Wersi (Music Store) who will also be able to help with this query)

            Mark/Bill,

on OAX it is a piece of cake. You can assign any one of 16 voices to upper, lower or pedal and then by double tapping the sound, you can assign what part of the keyboard it relates to, and it is all done pictorially. So for example, you can assign a number of sounds to the bottom 3 octaves, and then another sound to the next octave and then a couple to the remaining part of the manual, thus effectively replicating 3 manuals on one. There is no limit to the number of splits other than the 16 sounds in total across all manuals, or where they can be. I quite often have splits on the bottom, and use for solo voices + strings etc, but really haven’t found myself to be limited by any of this yet.

on mine, I have 4 volume drawbars for upper, 4 for lower and 2 for pedal, so any voices in excess of this, I have to set up in advance by touching the voice, but on the whole this is fine in operation.

            hope that helps

That’s great Mark and I understand how you can put any of the sixteen voices anywhere on the organ pedals or manuals.

That question is though if you attach a third keyboard via the midi inputs on the OAX1 can you then place any of the 16 voices onto this manual also.....or doesn’t this work

              Cheers

Although I have an OAX instrument, I don't have a midi keyboard to try this, but as far as I can see, there is nothing in the current software level (1.51) which enables sounds to be allocated to the midi in port, but as it's possible with OAS, then I would expect this feature to be implemented in a later revision.

The use of Comic Sans across the OAS user interface was a classy touch, don’t you think, Bill?
