  • Lowery Prestige A5000

    Hi Folks,

I have recently inherited a Lowery Prestiege A5000 Organ. It belonged to my Dad who recently passed. He purchased it in 2007 for his sweetheart who passed away shortly thereafter. He did not play. Its immaculate and still sounds great. No one in the family is in to organs....we don't know much about it. I have the original store receipt. I also can post pictures. Just not sure where to start. Can anyone offer suggestions?
    Thank you so much.

Are you asking us for a value with a view to selling? If so, let us know and we'll put it into the right section to give you some idea of its value (be aware that the value is going to be a tiny fraction of the original price).

Or (we hope!) are you asking us how to get started with it, in which case we'll be very happy to help!
It's not what you play. It's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.

Welcome to the forum, and sorry to hear of your bereavement.

Magnificent organ, enjoy it. Better than giving it away. If that sounds harsh, search the forum for the many threads on Lowrey's business model, which relieves senior citizens of huge sums of money for organs that — as Andy says — have fractional resale value (at best).

Thank you both. No was not interested in using it! We understand that although he paid an enormous amount ( over 50,000 :( ugh )for it we will not get much if anything just wondering if it could be sold at all. Thanks for putting this in the correct section for me - should I add photos? Again Thanks!!

Music Direct Ltd, Oldham, UK are currently offering one at £9,999. How realistic that is, I have no idea.

Is this comment alright in this thread? I have nowhere else to put it.

Countrywide have been punting one for ages at £9K. Optimistic. They only find friends far south of that. Buyers decide prices, not sellers.
