    Which Version Lowrey Is This?

    Folks,

I ran across this organ when looking at *raigsList ads in New England: https://nh.craigslist.org/msg/d/organ/6632408935.html

It looks like the organ is a DSO-1, but it appears to be missing something. On the right-hand cheek, there are normally 2 rows of 4 rocker tabs on a DSO-1, but this organ appears to be missing one rocker tab there. However, it DOES have the Chimes knob and range indicator on the upper manual. I also wonder what the "stand up speaker" is?

Of course, y'all know that about "curious minds."

That is curious. It has upper/lower split leslie so is two channel, which says it's a DSO-1, but as you say, there's a rocker tab missing, the purple one that is for Repeat. That's the other distinction between DSO and DSO-1.

Stand up speaker? I bet someone's been there already at that price, hoping to bag a 145!
It's not what you play. It's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.

      Andy,

I wondered that myself. Of course, I'm one of them. I will contact the seller and see what is up with that. Maybe it's even a 220 or 720! I doubt it, though, as I don't believe they are compatible with the DSO-1. However, I believe I will be given a 125 in the next month or two when the garage is complete, but time will tell.

On my DSO-1, the Repeat rocker switch holds that position. But it does make me wonder if it's only that or something else missing. I seem to remember someone saying in years past that the only difference between the DSO and DSO-1 was the Repeat feature. Maybe that's the difference?

The tube organ omnibus shows dual amps for the DSO, DSO-1, DSL, and DSL-O.
No repeat on the DSO or DSL. DSO has a brilliance tab, the DSL does not.

That solves it, Dave. The organ indeed does have a Brilliance tab. So, it is actually a DSO.

In answer to your other question, yes, that is an AOC tab to the left of the Leslie controls.

Great to see you back on the Forum! I'm learning much from your input.

Thanks for the info, Dave. Blue Book is usually accurate enough, but it's wrong this time. I'll amend my copy!
