  • Official Wersi OAX mp3 Demos

Wersi Sound demos played on an OAX organ have now been added to the main Wersi website http://www.wersi.net/sound-demos.html

    Enjoy

    SOUND-DEMOS

In the following demos are exclusively recorded live instruments with styles and sounds from the Basic range are used. It is only the internal OAX-recording function, and no sequencer or similar means are used. In many recordings for style fits deposited STS presets was used.

For the titles Sunny, Invitations and This Old House Styles are used, which were originally programmed for the YAMAHA Tyros and converted for these demos with existing in OAX system Batch Conversion function. When playing these styles the tone of the OAX-Systems are exclusively used.

Well, they're certainly up to Wersi's usual standards.

What is it about Wersi demos? They've been the worst in the industry for as long as I can remember. Dismal.

They should hose the lot and just stick a selection of Robert Bartha/Brett Wales videos up. Those guys do a great job selling OAX.

The main reason I suspect is that they play them live without any processing or external equipment, whereas other manufactures use external processing and production as well as additional recording equipment, the downside is that nobody can make their instruments sound anything like what they hear in demos without spending a boat load of cash on external equipment, (And learning how to use it) however anybody that purchases a Wersi OAX instrument can make it sound like the demos with ease.

Personally I believe Wersi should follow other manufactures so as to showcase the instruments; however on the flip side the amount of people that moan because they can’t make their instrument sound anything like the demo they heard, are they really just conning people into buying something that will never meet what they are expecting.

Interestingly a number of Wersi dealers in Europe have the videos by JVDPlas on their site, which as they also explain how it is done is probably the optimum compromise.

Even when you demonstrate by playing live, you'll get people coming up afterwards and saying "I've got that organ and it doesn't sound like that!" I think it's always been that way. At the first organ concert I ever went to Keith Beckingham came out with the line that I was to hear (and use!) many times. "People sometimes tell me 'I'd give my right arm to play like you, Mr Beckingham.' I tell them that wouldn't make it easier!"

I try to make a distinction between concert performance and demos. Demos of features and voices should be at 'customer level', for want of a better term, showing potential buyers how simple playing can get good results. I did this for Bonners with a Genos demo, and it sold a lot of keyboards with its simplicity. But there are times when you want to showcase the organs to let them really shine and the organists should have free rein to play the nuts off the instruments. More videos needed, of both types.
It's not what you play. It's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.
