  • Elka 30

Hi I’ve just bought my second organ and I’m trying to find some information on it but no one seems to know much about my particular model, I can post photos of the guts and repairs I’m doing, only problem I can’t fix seems to be the volume only works on the highest and lowest volume settings

Exactly which Elka are we talking about here? I can't think of an Elka 30 model. The X30 portable, maybe, or something else?

And are you saying that there's one slider/knob for main volume that's only working at min and max?

A bit more info (and a photo of the organ perhaps) and we can give you a bit more help.
It's not what you play. It's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.

These are all my photos from when I took it apart, there’s a backplate with all the information on there including the serial number and model name

Ah yes, I remember that little critter, though perhaps with different number over here?

So now we know what it is, what control is misbehaving?

The only thing that’s not working on it is the sliders on the bottom left side and the top right for the drum tracks, I believe it’s just funk has gotten in there and I need to spray some electrical cleaner to get them unguncked, they only play at the highest volume and lowest cutting out at the middle, also some of those buttons too select what drum track and effects for the top keyboard are hard to press in, is there a way I can clean those? Thanks so much for the reply

De-Oxit D5 for the switches, but use De-Oxit Fader Lube for the sliders. That, plus regular use, should sort the problem. As for the rhythm buttons being gunked up and hard to press, I know what you mean, but I think you're into a careful dismantle and clean with those. I can't tell you how to take them apart, and even the service manuals are very light on disassembly info.
