If you just purchased it I assume it was recently moved in which case the pedals were removed? The expression pedals on the HX-1 are connected to the pedal assembly which must be plugged in. So, do the pedals play? Do you remember plugging them in? I'm not certain if this design was changed in the CHX-1.

Hi Leo Yes I did plug the pedals into the 25 pin connector and the pedals do play. the right pedal foot switch changes the resets. The led expression are all light up like full volume. but both pedals do not work. does the remote light go on when the expression pedals are working? yes as design as the HX-1

You might want to inspect the cable and make sure none of the little pins are bent. All it takes is one to not work if it happens to be connected with the expressions.

No PIns are bent checked that ,I have the pedal assembly all apart what was a stupid thing to do. I did had to solder a wire that came off the pedal pc Board but that did n't make any difference. Both The expression pedals still don't work I have the service manual for the XH and it does not tell you anything about were the pcb's are or how to reassemble the pedals.

Because this model was modular the service manuals are separated per assembly. For example, you could order the HX-1 with the 18 pedal board or the 25 pedal board. The expression info is in the pedal service manuals. If I recall, the expression pedals came off by removing one screw allowing them to slide and release.

How can I get a expression service manual I looked all over? Is there another pc board inside the organ for the expression pedals? So what you are saying is to remove the expression pedals to see if there is a short? The expression Leds are pegged on full like there is a short. Its a 2 man job to try to put theses pedals back inside the contacts. who ever designed this pedal assembly should be shot. I cracked the pedal printed Circuit board and had to solder 2 traces with shielded wire where the pc board cracked 2 pedals notes are out c# and D where the traces that lifted off the board. have any suggestions on reassembly of the pedals. can you call me tomorrow I have a few questions. I hate typing it will take me 3 weeks to type and 10 minuets to ask my questions
thanks Geo for all your help

                Hi GEO
I got another question do I have to keep loading from the box or I can save the sounds to internal registrations setting? The owners manual is very confusing.

It's a Yamaha owner's manual, what did you expect! :)

You should be able to load registrations into the organ and they will stay there. Similarly, if you save your own settings into the pistons, they will stay there until you load in something else. And you'll be able to save your own settings to disk - assuming that the drive is OK and you have disks for it.
It's not what you play. It's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.

YAMAHA CHX-1 organ expression pedals printed circuit board location

I tried everything to fix the YAMAHA CHX-1 organ expression pedals I took the pedals apart. is the printed circuit board location under the pedals? or underneath the lower keyboard? Is there any one out there selling the pedals for the CHX-1 organ? or where can I get spare parts?
                    Thanks KingKeys

Given the age of the organ, you might well find that parts can only come from a donor instrument. They seem to be long lived instruments and from the few that I know of in the UK, it's the mechanicals that are starting to fail rather than the electricals.
