  • Wurlitzer Orbit 1 Organ PCB Board

Just wondered if anyone can confirm what the RED cylcindrical component is on the PCB picture as attached.
The other red componenet is a Triac so im guessing the cylindrical compomenet is a triac firing coil / transformer.
The coil has 4 connections 2 on the outer and 2 on the inner.
The PCB came from the tone Tone Wheel Generator, and seems to be faulty, so im truing to replace the parts.

    Any help aprreciated.
    Many thanks

The correct model number for the organ is 625TA. Orbit 1 is just the name of the third manual synthesizer. There is no tonewheel generator in this organ, Brendan, tone generation is all solid state. The only thing that spins is the built in leslie speaker.

Does the leslie spin when you operate the appropriate switches? If not, then this looks like some sort of motor control board, perhaps?
It's not what you play. It's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.

      Thanks Andy,

I must admit ive not seen the organ itself, i'v ejust been given the PCB which is suspected to be faulty.
Many thanks for the information, I will pass this back to the owner and see what he has to say.

It's a reed relay. Adding power to the coil windings will turn the reed switch on and off. Often used to control Triacs for the isolation of AC to low voltage control circuits.

Not sure whether this matters, but the organ is a Wurlitzer 580T
          Thanks

Thanks Chris, you're right. Must put glasses on before checking! :) I could see it was smaller than the 650 so assumed 630. But it makes no difference to the matter in hand.
