I tell all my keyboard students that they can tell people that they have a C3. Depending on who you listen to, it's Middle C or the C an octave lower. And if they have an organ, they can boast that they have two (or even three) C3s.

Not quite the same, though! :D

Not many over TV ads for organs here in the UK. The Kimball ones with Leslie Crowther stick in my mind, and I think there were some Yamaha ones. But back in the 70s, you were selling every organ you could get into the shops, so TV advertising wasn't really needed. As Minns Music were sole importers/retailers of Kimball in the UK, they got both markups so could afford to splash out a bit. And Yamaha were simply big enough to afford it. The home organ business was at its UK peak in the mid to late 70s and awash with money.

Of course if you count the Stylophone as an 'organ', that was well advertised. We'll say no more about that one.
It's not what you play. It's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.

You know what they said about Liberace. He was great on the piano, but he sucked on the organ.

Wow. That's one of the funniest things I've heard in a long time! haha. And I am a fan of Liberace!
I've heard a lot of jokes about him but never that one. I must have laughed out loud for 20 minutes just now. Thanks!
