  • Help Repairing Lowery GL-3

    Wow...I think I just came into something way over my head. I am a 73 year old grandma, trying to find information to fix my 85 year old husbands Lowery Genie GL-3 organ..I have no idea how to get to a post or anything else..should I just give up? Any suggestions to helping me?

    Welcome to the forum.

    We'd need to have some idea of what the problem is. It's a bit like saying that your car is having problems, do we know what it is.

    Just be aware that 1) the organ is now over 20 years old and there are no spares for anything 'custom' inside. 2) if it is a simple fix, then calling in a service technician will cost more than the market value of the organ. Sentimental value to you and your husband is another matter entirely and only you can decide how much you want to spend. If you have no particular sentimental attachment to this particular instrument and just want something for him to enjoy playing, it might well be cheaper to get another instrument. There are hundreds out there, often selling for pennies or given away free.

    But... first things first. Let's find out what the organ is, or isn't doing, and see if we can help. A location might help us give you some advice re finding a technician.
