I've heard there are piston faces one can apply over the existing pistons Does anyone know of a supplier for them. I've checked many manufacturers, but they replace the piston itself which I do not want to do.

It would help it we knew what make and model you are talking about! :) Plenty of home organ manufacturers used square pistons - Yamaha, Kawai and Roland being the obvious three to me at this time of the morning. There are a number of pipe organ suppliers that will shave off the old faces then engrave whatever you want. I have had this done for years when we modify the organ console.

I assume that we're talking home organs, as the OP put it in this category. In which case, all that will usually be on the piston is a number. If you shaved off the face of one of these, there wouldn't be enough material left to engrave. As yet, we don't know what we're dealing with and can't really give advice until we do.It's not what you play. It's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.
