  • Recording Audio AT900P

I inherited a Roland AT900P. It says in the manual that I can record audio files to a flashdrive. When I follow the directions to do that it will not record the auto accompaniment that I have selected. It only records the melody I play against that. So I tried directly plugging in the audio out jacks to the inputs of my interface on my computer and play the same thing as before with auto accompaniment. It only out puts the melody I play and the rest of the recording is silent. The only way I have found to record this audio is by micing the speakers. The organ will record all audio if I don't use an auto accompaniment and play all parts myself. In that case it does record everything including the auto rhythm.

When I record my performances on a AT-800 upgraded ATUPEX (same as your Platinum), I connect my cord to the main L/R connectors (left side under Lower), and there is a setup in the menu System : Aux Out = ON and Aux Out Mode = SATELLITE or MONITOR, but not especially ENSEMBLE, which affects the signals that will go out the main output.

I don't know if this helps but I've seen in the past similar symptoms than what you describe and what I suggest fixed the issue.

PS : if my suggestion works, please answer the topic I've open today about system version ;-)

The settings on mine are currently Aux Out: OFF and Aux Out Mode: Ensemble or Ambience, depending on which banks of presets I'm using (and some of those were copied over from AT90SL) I don't think the mode has any effect since the Aux Out is set to Off. Audio is recorded to the USB flashdrive complete with accompaniment and drums.

To record to an external device, use the Main Outs rather than the separate Aux Outs. Or set the Aux Mode to MONITOR, so the same sounds go to both sets of outputs.

My software version is 2.02. I was told that this was the final version of the AT900P firmware, so I'm surprised to hear about v 2.99. Email going off right now to Roland UK to see if it's worth updating.
It's not what you play. It's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.
