  • Yamaha HX1 or Technics sx-GX7

Good morning, I'm D85boy from France
Thanks a lot for accrepting me in your forum - sorry, but my English is poor

I have a question for the community.
My old Electone D85boy is almost dead ;-(
Then It's time to find a new organ, more modern.

My preferences goes to Yamaha HX1 ou Technics SX-GX7 - but which one to choose

I like organ church / jazz / variety / rock / beautiful and real sound - I use pedals, and I like playing what I ear !!! (but not after 80's ;-))))

Thanks a lot for your comments and advices

    Have a great day

      Bonjour D85boy,

maybe better think about a Technics GA3. They are also quite cheap (around 500-600 Euro) and newer than the GX7. They sound better and will last longer. I own one myself and I can fully recommend them. Like on the Yamaha you have lot‘s of buttons to change the sound in real time - not like on more modern organs that need to by programmed before via touch screen.

The GA3 offers 10 kinds of organ types (Technics, Lowrey, Farfisa, Hammond, Conn, Wurlitzer (as far as I know), Classical organ, ...), all with separate tabs that can be switched on and off - like on the Yamaha. (Not with „pre programmed“ preset sounds, that can not be changed).
      Playing Hammond Aurora Classic & XE2, Hohner E3, Roland G800 & AT500.

Auronoxe has got there first. I would agree with him. Look for a GA3, with all those wonderful organ sounds as well as excellent orchestral voices.

The organ types are as follows: Classical Pipe, Theatre Pipe. Lowrey (US Tabs), Gulbransen (Theatre Drawbars), Conn (Theatre Tabs), Eminent (European), Hammond (drawbars) and Technics. Each with its own screenful of additional voices. And of course you can mix all the organs with the other orchestral and solo voices! Great rotary speaker simulations that you can adjust.

Much better than the GX7 and much more playable than an HX-1.

Michel/Michael. Je crois que ma Francais serait "comme ci, comme ca"! Alors, si vous voulez, pourriez-vous traduire pour moi? Merci!
It's not what you play. It's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.
