Faulty expression pedal on Roland PK-7a

Hi If I raise the master volume on the 900ce anywhere above halfway, the slightest foot movement on the expression pedal, induces high distorted sound levels. I gather I can set the pedal at one level but then it's not really an expression pedal, this item is detachable ,so I should be able to replace if available?
