  • Ethereal freeplay style for Orla

I found the most useful freeplay style on the Tyros was the Ethereal , gave a full , big backing with no rhythm running.
Is there anyway anyone might know i could find and download similar styles ,to load through a floppy disc to my Orla ?

You don't really need a freeplay style, as you have an organ. Freeplay styles were developed to allow a player to have a straight orchestral style with a static chord and bass note and no rhythmic parts at all. Emulating what an organ can do.

So you can go 'old school' - just choose some lower manual sounds plus one for the pedals and play chords on lower and one pedal note for each chord. If you need the lower manual to hold the chord and for the bass note to be played for you, I'm pretty sure the Orla will do that without needing to use a style at all.

FWIW, Freeplay styles are complex critters and most don't translate or revoice that well, even between Yamaha instruments.
It's not what you play. It's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.

      Thanks Andy,

      Obvious really !
Just getting used to a organ after a keyboard again.
Spent hours on it now ,fine tuning the sounds ,octave settings on separate areas to what i tend to like.

There is a lot in there, just got to keep digging , luckily mine came with a manual.
I fitted and hard wired a small REL quake subwoofer inside the speaker cabinet to bring the lower bass up to modern spec.
After all this isolation time , even my playing will be better ,i hope!
