Hi folks... I'm a newbie here. My Electone was working fine until a few days ago when it just didn't power up. I took the back off and checked fuses - all ok. The relay clicks and I get a faint hiss from the speakers but nothing else. All 4 fuses are OK - no burning smell. I've scoured the boards and understand it could be the capacitors but how do I simply check?
Check the power supply. Look for capacitors that may be bulging or that may have leaked. Check all output voltages from the supply and make sure that they are getting to the boards OK. Probably worth changing the caps anyway, given the age of the organ.
You'll be aware of the value of the organ and the fact that newer, bigger and better organs are out there for peanuts these days, so only you can decide mow much time, effort and money you wish to spend. You can have a lot of fun with an MC450, but there does come a time when decisions have to be made.
It's not what you play. It's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.
