Hey there,

Bought this a few months ago. Was in perfect shape with stool filled with books and original receipt still on the back from 1980. Had absolutely everything except the manual.I have basically figured out how to use everything except the Orbitone section. It seems to not change the sound at all through headphones. Is this a 3 channel thing? Can I not use the chorus and tremolo and combining in stereo? I swear they made a difference at the thrift store. Could it be because I have the organ against a wall?

Also how do I get it out to a mixer? I can get a faint signal by sending the signal out through the headphone amp but when I plug it in from "Rec. Output" to the mixer I get nothing. Is this because it's high impedance? Thoughts from Eminent-Solina owners especially anybody owning B-series organs would be appreciated

The Orbitone only works on the flute voices, of course. The original Orbitone was 3 channel, as were the strings, but I think they may have cheapened things by the time of the B417 and made it two channel. In any case, those 3 channels were combined into 2 for the phones, and presumably for the stereo rec outputs.

Are you saying that it works on speakers but not on phones? That's very odd indeed if that's the case. I also can't figure out why you only get a weak signal into the mixer from the headphones socket. I've recorded Eminent/Solinas that way with plenty of signal. Might be a problem with the headphones amp/socket perhaps?

It's not what you play. It's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.

I went downstairs last night focusing solely on the Orbitone and as you mentioned it works with certain sounds and not others. Will try the recording thing again soon. Just setting up a home studio so it could have been my problem more than anything.
