Never heard of a National SX 4300 up here at the other end of the world. Sounds interesting though. Can youtell us more about it, and perhaps post some pics?
National was the brand name that Matsushita Japan used for their organs when they first started making them. It was later changed to Technics to give the range a more 'up-market' style.

I think your SX4300 is one of the fairly early ones, must be early to mid 1970's. I'm sure one of your countrymen will pop up here very soon with more info. (Where are you, Ian?) [:)]

It's not what you play. It's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.
Your SX4300A was manufactured by Matsushita Electric Co. Japan. "National" was a trading name of Matsushita along with Panasonic, Technics & Ramsa, amongs others, however the National brand wasn't used in all markets.

The 4300A was released in 1979, and sold for AUD$2850 RRP. It was part of the last range of organs carrying the Nationalname which was later dropped in favour of Technics, the brand under which all the company's organs were sold until Matsushita quit the music business in 2003.

Cheers, Ian. It was a later one than I thought. Can you remember the very first bunch of Nationals? Must have been about 1970 or 71. No mention of them in my 83 BB, but I think they were in the earlier copy I had.

I flogged one to one of my students, then sold him my leslie 145 (s/no 14455!) for £100 back in 1977. I'll happily give him the £100 plus interest to get it back.

First Nationals I have any figures on are from '73, starting with SX200B @ AUD$1150. Nothing in my '73 BB, but I don't think the name was used in the US.

I also have a single sheet brochure, probably from the late 60's with 6 instruments shown in living blue & white:-

SX50 & SX88, both 49 note combo organs, 4 diodes, Diapason Stop, Resin Attache Case, AUD$359 & AUD$449

SX610 & SX780, both 61 note Tinny Ginny types, 11 & 45 Diodes, Fagotto Stop,AUD$590 & AUD$1095

Thankyou all for your replies especially about the age of the organ. I had suspected that National became Technics at some stage but didnt know exactly when. I was able to download an instruction manual for it and that refered to it as bein a Technic organ. The layout of the controll is exactly the same. I was amazed at how little these organs are worth ( reading other posts). One again thankyou for a very interesting forum.
