  • Volume / Expression Pedal

I am thinking of moving away from my integrated EL900 going to a component set up . Considering Hammond SKXPro and add Hammond bass pedal board through MIDI . I run a A & H Mixer . I will purchase a drum machine and run this into the mixer .Question ...I will need a Volume or Expression pedal adding this presumably after the mixer before the amp so as to have the mixed signal of Hammond, Drum machine and other keyboard running into the mixer.Volume or Expression ? and is anyone aware of one that has a kick switch like the EL series on the side of the pedal please to control the new drum machine. Many thanks indeed

If the Hammond has audio inputs, it might be possible to route those through the expression pedal - check the manual. Hammond make an EXP100F pedal with a switch, but that might only control features on the Hammond. Again, the manual will help.

I'm not aware of any standard volume pedals, ones that just handle audio signals rather than control voltages, that have switches. You can buy such switches and mount them on the pedal yourself and if it were a Yamaha, there is a guy who converts their pedals and offers switch kits. This is almost certainly going to be a DIY job.
It's not what you play. It's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.

Thanks Andy - Thought it might a DIY job . I am in Portugal therefore finding a good tech should not be too much or problem but thinking of going down the BOSS FV500L and Boss FS7 and adapting playing style for rhythm on/ off fills etc etc

The EXP100F is a very particular pedal. Even though it's Hammond, it only works with a small range of them, that does not include the SKPro. Here's a bit more information on the B3 Guys website:
        https://www.b3guys.com/product/Hammo...Pedal-EXP-100F

It also will not mount on all of Hammond's pedalboards, I believe.

So yeah, probably a custom job. First step would be to decide on your pedalboard. That will narrow down your choices, since not all pedals mount on all pedalboards. I got a Hammond XPK200L. I was also blessed to find a Roland EV5 pedal for a good price. It's not listed as compatible, but it fits perfectly in the bracket meant for the Hammond EXP50. So I'd get something like that and add the switch.

400$ for an EXP50? Wow, that means, half the price of the XE2 I bought in 2023 was just for the expression pedal, and the organ just the other half ;-)
