I’m running a Nord Electro 3 through a 2101 mkII and the 8880000 sound is fine. However, when I pull more drawbars, like a full organ sound, the sound is too thin and not good at all. Any ideas on how to change the settings etc?
Should I direct more of the sound to the botton rotor?
Yes I have. I am wondering whether it could be the quality of the organ sound itself or not. It sounds thicker through the NE3 internal sim. I can make it scream, but it doesn’ t produce a pleasing sound. I thought it perhaps had to do with the 2101 settings.
Well, the Electro 3 isn't the best Hammond simulation out there, but it's far from the worst. Also, the internal simulator is specifically designed to mimic the "classic" Leslie models (122 etc). The 2101 is a different beast altogether and does not do justice to the "122" sound ideals, in my opinion.
Current organs: AV, M-3, A-100
Current Leslies: 22H, 122, 770
I believe you are right. The overall sound gets better when using a bass amplifier of course. It also helps avoiding pulling the high drawbars all the way out.
