  • Leslie 44w Wurlitzer

    Hello everyone!
We found a Leslie 44w that says Wurlitzer on the nameplate in our attic at church and I was wondering if it could be hooked up even if it says wurlitzer. Is it only able to be used for wurlitzer organs or would it be able to be used with an A100 with some work?

A 44W is an excellent match for your A-100. The 44W has the same hookup as the 147, so if your A-100 is equipped with a connector kit for a 145/147 the 44W is good to go - just plug in and enjoy.

Do NOT plug it in if your A-100 is wired for a Leslie 122 or a 251, though.
    Current organs: AV, M-3, A-100
    Current Leslies: 22H, 122, 770

      Enor is correct.

However, Leslie 44Ws were last manufactured in 1958, which means that yours is between 60 and 70 years old. At the very least, the amplifier will need work to function reliably and safely, especially for use in a church. The motors and bearings may need oiling and service as well. Think of it like a car. If you found a car that had been sitting for years, would you just climb in and try to crank it up? And how much damage would you cause if you did?
