A guy has an HR-40 in the back of his antique shop collecting dust. Should I be interested in it or should I pass it by? I have a PR-40 in good working order. Whats a fair price for the HR-40 anyway? I live in Maine.
I suppose it would depend on what you need it for. I've worked on them for a church. They sound OK in a large space, but I think that most would agree that the PR-40 sounds better. As to value, I've usually seen them given away.
I have a JR-20 and a PR-40. I like the PR-40 much better. The bass is far superior. I suppose the bass in the HR-40 is good since it has 9 bass speakers. I like the overall balance of tone that the PR-40 has with a nicer treble than on the JR-20.
