  • Leslie 147RV c.1970, Transformer Paint Match

    Greetings,
I'd like to sand and repaint the transformer covers from my Leslie 147RV circa 1970.. Anyone know which commercially available spray paint is the best match? The Windsor Gray I used on my 1980 Delta 88 is too light.

I am going through my amplifier and pulled the choke transformer. There is some rust on the upper cover both inside and out. The lower cover has much surface rust on the inside. I anticipate finding the same on the other two transformers.

I tried this years ago, and I couldn't find a standard color that was an exact match to the bluish grey color that Triad used.

There are color-matching spray paint services. I've never used one, but they are out there. You could do a coat of Rustoleum primer and then apply a custom finish color.

      David,
Thank you for the information. There is an industrial paint shop down the street from me that matches color.

... and then there's the option of just painting them gloss black or with black lacquer and moving on.
        :)
        Cheers !

The match color is Atlas Neutral. I previously posted the code CAS6596 thinking it was the color code. It appears it is the code for the propellent in the spray can.
