  • Connecting Hammond L112 to Leslie 125

I have just acquired a Hammond L112 and Leslie 125. The only thing missing was the cable to connect the two. The L112 has a flat connector with 4 wires coming into it. It appears the Leslie has a round plug connection typical of Hammond and Leslie connections. The person I acquired these from recalls the Leslie working with the L112 but has no information other than that. I have looked for a cable to match this configuration with no luck. It's going to take someone smarter than me to figure this one out. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

That sounds like a home brew connection. Flat connectors never were incorporated in official Leslie cables.

      Hello,

Most often, the connection uses a kit mounted in the console.
In your case it is the kit 7271.

Do you have this in your organ?

The wiring uses 6 wires that can be reduced to 5 by a relay wiring trick. But with only 4 it will not work, except to forget the speed control.

The kit 7271 is complicated. But it is possible to simplify by removing the half-moon echo control. A simple switch and a load resistor are enough to turn off the internal speaker when Leslie is used.
If you also delete the Echo / Tremolo half moon. Then 4 wires is enough but the Leslie turns continuously.
It may be what you have or something like that.
