    OK, I have two laptop computers, which are dell, how does one find the correct midi cord and where do you hook it up too?

    Everything depends on the type of MIDI, to which you're connecting. If your musical device has the 5-pin 179˚ MIDI connections (about 1/2" round), then there are devices which can transmit that signal to USB. Edirol (Roland) and M-Audio devices come to mind. Their drivers are readily available online. On the other hand, if your musical device has a USB, you can use a standard USB cable to connect to the laptop. Other connections are possible, but what I've just stated are the most common.

    Could you provide more detail about what you're trying to connect? That will help us help you more quickly.
