Can I change HW version on a sample set that allow edditing? If so what is the steps?

I downloaded a free sample set that allows editting. It's for latest HW,version and does not load on my HW version. Can I edit thecODF file? If so what should I change to make it compatible.

Why not just upgrade your version of Hauptwerk? You might be able to edit the required version as specified in the ODF, and while such a change might enable to you load the sample set, it still might not work properly with an obsolete version of Hauptwerk that it was not designed to work with.
