  • Adding Midi hookups to Allen ADC 2110T

I recently purchased this organ for my church and was wondering if it's possible to add midi to use an Allen smart recorder or Allen Essemble?

I would have my organ techman do it because he is an Allen certified tech. Just thoughts on the ballpark of price and would it be worth it.

The Allen MIDI implementation on this model was note on and off information only--it does not control expression nor stops & pistons. I don't know if the Allen MIDI translator board is still available, but your dealer/technician can find out. It's probably over $1,000 to add it (just a guess). The smart recorder is not so useful if it can't control stops and expression, in my opinion. Not sure how well the Ensemble module would work with this model, but the MDS Expanders would get you the additional voices but without expression, unless your tech ties into the Allen mixer board (which can be done)--you'd have to choose if you wanted swell or great expression for the expander this way--i.e., it would not express by keying division.

Thanks, for the info! I'll put it in the back of my mind and ask him to see what he has/doesn't when he comes out for a service/maintenance call.
