  • Organ repair recommendatrions near Stamford, CT

I have some people that will look at my mom's Allen MDC-31 to give me a repair estimate, but I have to pay the shop rate for travel plus mileage and it's going to be more than $200 to have him walk in the door. I'm not begrudging the charges (although I'm not allowed to charge my rate during travel, only while actually working on the client's stuff).

I don't know how much the organ is worth (it might only be worth $200 in working condition, who knows - I have not found any values online).

The organ is in Stamford, CT.

Anyone know a repair shop close by that can look at it and give me an estimate?

    Steve,

Check this website: http://www.mitatechs.org/. If you click on Service Locator, and you should be able to find someone near New Haven, or other close locations. Hope this helps.

    • Lowrey Heritage (DSO-1)
    • 11 Pump Organs, 1 Pipe Organ & 7 Pianos

I contacted one of the ones that is closer. He also had a good reputation with local musicians.

We'll see how that works out.

      Thanks.

Maybe some of us could help if we knew a description of the problem?
