  • Conn 305 Theatre

Hiya, can anyone give me the console dimensions for the above please? I`ve got my eye on one but I don`t know if it will either fit in the back of my car or in the spot I have earmarked in my lounge. Many thanks, dreamin` on..........

I don't know the dimensions, but I'd strongly advise giving it a wide berth!

It's not a 'true' Conn, with independent tone generators and a lovely rich sound. This is simply their low-end Prelude model pit into the console used for the larger Theatrette series. Nothing like the same sound. Looks good but that's not what you listen to!

If you want a Conn, look for a Caprice 46x series, a Minuet 54x series, any of the Theatrette 55x series or, best of all by far, the wonderful 3 manual 580. They DO all have that unmistakable Conn sound. Be aware that all of these Conns will be 40+ years old. They'll need a bit of fettling, no do doubt and their big Achilles Heel is their vinyl keying rod system. Once you start to have problems with these, they can be hard to fix.

But get a good Conn and it's lovely, I had a couple of the big ones.
It's not what you play. It's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.

Thank you Andy. I`ll leave this 99p one alone then.
