  • Allen 433-th

    Hello,

I have an Allen organ 433-th that is stuck on high volume. I am pretty new at this, so any help would be great! Thanks in advance!

Most likely the light bulb in your expression system is burned out. Allen used a #57 12-Volt automotive bulb with a black dot painted on it and a mechanical shutter system for expression control. When the light bulb burns out, the volume goes to maximum. There are multiple discussions about replacing that bulb on this Forum. It's not a difficult job once you open up the back of the organ console.

Wonderful! I pulled the back off and swapped the 57k bulb with a working S313 bulb from my consul lamps, painted the end black and presto! Volume control again! Now to find the proper bulb tomorrow.
      thanks!
