    Hi Organ Fans

I just wanted to tell you about a great concert I have coming up May 21st at the Blue Note is NYC

Just a little back story about the gig....George Coleman Jr and I had a studio at 106 Rivington St. on the Lower East Side 25 years ago. I knew him while I still lived in CT and he was a big influence on me moving to NYC. From time to time, George Coleman Sr. would come jam and school all of the young lions. We have been playing a few gigs together in recent years and have been really enjoying the group. Last year we were playing a concert in Elvis' first house in Memphis and decided that we had to record together. In September, SteepleChase asked me if I had any interesting projects that I wanted to record and I, of course, suggested the group with the Colemans. The session was done in 4 hours, mostly first takes of tunes associated with George like Maiden Voyage and On a Misty Night. The new album is a greasy joyous swinging soul party, greasy as a Memphis catfish!! We had a great time on the date as you can see on the little montage from the session below.
