  • Organ and Orchestra Concert, March 1 and 2

    Dear fellow OrganForumers,

This weekend presents two opportunities for a special treat; to
hear Skinner Opus 624, located in the Scottish Rite Cathedral at the
Dayton Masonic Temple.  The concerts will feature the Dayton
Philharmonic, with the organ played by Todd Wilson.  The concerts will
be Saturday 3/1 at 8:00pm, and Sunday 3/2 at 3:00pm.  Program details
and other information viewable at the Dayton Philharmonic site:

    http://www.daytonphilharmonic.com/

Tickets range from $8-$32 - rest assured that the organ will get to
you no matter where you sit!  ;-)  There will also be tours of the
mammoth Masonic facility itself prior to each concert (more info about
that on the Philharmonic site).  The Dayton Masonic Temple is home to
no less than six Pilcher organs, but the crown jewel, Skinner Opus 624,
is a large and rare "John Bell" Skinner, and remains in its original
condition from top to bottom.  Specs of this most heroic instrument can
be seen at the Aeolian-Skinner archives:

         Hope to see you there!

            Regards,

                        Nathan
