Come to Philadelphia for our FREE daylong musical extravaganza. We’re celebrating the 104th birthday of the world’s largest playing pipe organ, and we are pulling out all the stops—all 461 of them! Special concerts and displays in the Grand Court are combined with tours of the cavernous pipe chambers and video presentations between events! 10 am: Opening Concert with special guest artist Colin Howland, a former assistant Wanamaker Organist who is one of
the most electrifying virtuosos performing today!
11:30 am: Peter Richard Conte rattles the rafters with his latest masterworks in stunning arrangements!
2:30 pm: By popular demand: Nick Bowden makes the Wanamaker Organ sizzle in a tuneful Revue of lyrical pops favorites and light airs!
5 pm: Closing Concert with the comic antics of the Philadelphia Organ Quartet: Peter Richard Conte, Colin Howland, Rudy Lucente and Michael Stairs. Here the Mighty Wanamaker combine forces with three state-of-the-art Allen digital instruments—a stunning sonic spectacular! Crystal in the proverbial china department will shatter as the Theme from E.T. soars on 700 stops!
