Hope you enjoyed DirkJan and the Bohm. Been to see him a number of times this year and always a good gig with time to have a chat with him. He may have mentioned his Bohm is going in for a refit and update this year so will be interesting to see what its like next year round complete with the now compulsory touch screen. Hope you managed to secure his new DVD of his TV broadcast on DK4 112 minutes of good music and performance, it does have some subtitles during the chat but a great thing to play over again. His bouncy catchy style of playing is unique along with a great personality to bring it altogether.
I most certainly did enjoy Dirk’s concert. It’s the first time I’ve seen him live, having relied on YouTube until now. He’s a very entertaining and accomplished performer whom I could watch/listen to for hours so, yes, I bought his new DVD. Excellent music but I find the coloured flashing lights and smoke generator very irritating - they detract from the performance. He is planning more YouTube items.
Dirk’s instrument is a Sinfonia 480 but after the update it will be a Sempra something-or-other. All the current sounds will remain but he will only have a week after getting it back to familiarise himself with the new features. Many would struggle but I’m sure he’ll cope.
