Even more strange - all text after the first apostrophe I inserted in my last message has failed to appear.

I don't seem to 'ave this problem. You're in the UK right? It might be an international character set issue. What browser are you using?

          Admin,

yes, I am in the UK using iPad Air with latest software - iOS12.11. Further test with PC desktop and Mozilla Firefox did not reveal a problem.

Error in last message appears to have corrected itself and apostrophes are showing correctly.

Ok, it we'll have to see if other Apple mobile users run into the same difficulty. I assume you're using Safari on your tablet?

I'm not an Applephile, and having no Apple gear, I've no way of exploring this problem. I suspect it has to do with the charset being used by your mobile browser. Do you see the problem as you're entering text into the editor, or is it only after you've submitted it and it appears in the post? Reply by hitting the comment link immediately above this comment.

I do not have a comment link to hit. Something else to worry about?! Problem only seen after text has been submitted and appears in post.

I can't remember the format of all previous posts but I think your comments have been converted to full-blown posts. I don't know whether they're connected but at some point since disabling Smart Punctuation on my iPad I have acquired a Comment link. I'm using it now. Interesting.

Is it possible to see if the problem exists using a different browser on your mobile device?

Edit: text after apostrophe has disappeared.
Sorry to bore everyone else with my problem but I do not know of any other way to conduct these tests.

On the mobile site, there's a drop down menu under each post (not under comments, but the post itself) that let's you quote, comment, edit, etc. Click on the three dots (…) next to the Like button.

Well, they did, so we know it isn't a problem with the mobile website. Does your iPad have a language setting?
