ID:	653117 I've only ever seen this on sites that I don't frequent. What causes this?

Not seeing your issue on either mobile or desktop versions of Chrome. The site's certificate is valid thru January 2020 and is issued by Comodo.
What OS and Chrome version are you using?

I get random messages like that. They come and go. I figure some information might have been lost on the way to my computer to cause those messages.

I got one like that today(from another site). I cleared it by hitting Ctrl + F5.
Others have had luck clearing the cache.

I should add, for the sake of helping the troubleshooters/admin, that I'm on a Windows 10 machine running Firefox

Without a specific reason for the security message, there is nothing for me to investigate. Such information is usually available in the browser, either through a link on an error page or by clicking the security icon in the address bar. Which method is applicable depends on the browser being used as well as the severity of the error.

This site's security certificate is up-to-date and the site is scanned for malware and hacks on a regular basis, but security notifications may not be the fault of site being visited. Browser plug-ins can cause problems and can be vectors for malware. I don't use browser plug-ins for that reason. In some cases, images with http:// protocol links embedded in posts can flag an error, although I've not seen an instance of this here.

Out of date browsers and operating systems can also be the source of false reports. Note the error message at the top of thread says, "may not be trusted by your operating system." This is because the operating system has to have some underlying information to determine whether a presented security certificate is valid. If that information is out-of-date a proper validation can't occur. In the case of the report at the top of the this thread, the OS reporting the problem was Android 4.4 from six years ago which is no longer supported. The most current Android version is 9.0.

If you encounter a security issue on this site, you should report it by sending me a private message, including the URL on the page it occurred, when it occurred, and the precise wording of the error message received.
