    Hi all,

I have a big big issue :-( My amplifier D-40 (for Allen organ ADC-240) is totally broken. Can you please advise what can I buy instead of it?
With some advice, I bought some simple one (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1). It works, but the sound is terrible :-( Could you please tell me where can I find a replacement for an old one? How to choose the right one?

    I found one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Malone-Ampl...Bkeyboard&th=1
Will it work as the old one?

Thank you very much for your advice and comments.
    Will wait for your replies!

    With kindest regards,
    Lina

      Lina,

The small amp you bought probably doesn't have enough power for use with an organ, and that is why it sounds poor. It is probably ok with playing CD's or MP3 music, but just not enough power for an organ.

The other amp in your post, the Malone, appears to be a much better amp. At least is a true commercial amp with much more power. Be aware that any new amp will sound a little different from the original Allen amp. Be sure to set the volume knobs carefully. Don't set them too loud until you try the organ out with all the stops.

Another concern is the turn-on and turn-off "pop" or crackle sound. The Allen amp had a built-in circuit to keep you from hearing the pop or crackle, but the new amp may not have a circuit like that. If you hear a loud pop when turning the organ on or off, you may have to wait to turn on the amplifier after the organ is on, and then turn the amp off before turning off the organ.

          Lina,

Unfortunately, you're at the mercy of the market. I found my D-40 replacement amplifiers on *Bay, but they don't come up often. If I happen to see one, I'll try to remember this thread and let you know.

@ JBird, this to you, I saw in your video that you used an amplifier sold by P*rts E*press, looked like their AMP100. Would that be a solution?

That one should work. Here is another one that is available in the UK that would work:

            Hi all,

Unfortunately this amplifier dosent work well: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Nobsound-St...eakers&sr=1-23
            :-(
I tried to change bass and treble and volume... But it still sounds like very unharmonised instrument... It makes sound very vibrating...
Anyone can advise how to improve it? Or what I did wrong ?

Thank you very much in advance!
Have a nice day and stay safe!

I don't know why that amp wouldn't be just fine. I put one of those into an organ just a few weeks ago and it was fine, even for the bass. Perhaps you need to turn down the volume and the tone controls to zero, then start by turning up the volume know just a bit, then adjust the bass and treble very little at a time until you get the tone you want.
