  • Which Keyboard ?

    Dear All,
I have started to build a four manual VPO which will use the Willis Hereford software. Having played the real thing, and sung in the Cathedral many times, it is very close to my heart. I have acquired a 32 note oak pedalboard which is as new, and am converting it to MIDI. However, I have searched endlessly on the internet looking at various keyboards, and am worried as to which ones to choose. I have a Hammond SK which uses a Fatar keyboard which is lovely to play, but I have noticed recently that some of the keys are noisy. This isn't really a problem but I would rather it was quiet like it was when I bought it. So I was thinking, is this something that is inherent with Fatar. I have looked at UHT, but can't find a price from them, PMK, but I am unsure of the quality etc, etc.
So, I though I would seek some advice from experienced people that are on this forum. What is the best value keyboard? I hear UHT are the best, but at an unrealistic price of £2500 each, and seeing as I will need four, thats a lot of money for 244 notes. So what does everyone use for their own instruments?
I would very much value your opinions and suggestions as it will be a significant investment, and I don't want to buy the wrong thing or waste money on a product I'm not happy with.
    Thank you in advance.
    Mike

I'm going to close this thread. The OP has an identical thread in Virtual Organs, where it should get more of the correct audience. I moved my own response to that thread as well. Here's the thread:
